About
Welcome to My Digital WorkShop. I am so Glad to Virtually meet you.
About me:
I’m a creative and curious individual who learns by doing, an entrepreneur at heart. Growing up in Nepal, I was always eager to understand the “how” and “why” of everything. This mindset shaped my approach to life and work, valuing patience and persistence.
In 2006, I moved to the U.S. to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at Idaho State University. My years there were transformative, providing not only academic growth but also leadership and professional opportunities. After graduation, I spent a decade as a lab technologist in Utah, sequencing human genomes and unraveling genetic conditions that impacted patients—work that was both rewarding and intellectually stimulating.
Around 2012, I stumbled upon mobile app development. With no prior programming experience, I partnered with my brother to form K Duo Production LLC, a two-person startup. Through grit and early adoption, we managed to develop a portfolio of 75+ mobile apps across iOS and Android, many of which focused on music streaming and educational content. Several of our music apps achieved over 100,000 downloads in country-specific categories on the Google Play Store, a milestone that reaffirmed my passion for entrepreneurship.
By 2020, I decided to quit my job as a lab technologist and devote myself fully to entrepreneurship. While K Duo Production began to decline due to market changes, the experience gave me invaluable insights into startup dynamics, product development, and the lessons learned from navigating both success and failure.
In 2019, I took a different creative turn, founding ChiselChimp, LLC, a custom woodworking business where I crafted everything from wooden signs to coasters and earrings. This period was both a creative outlet and a strategic pivot, allowing me to acquire new skills in automation, design software, and production tools. However, it also brought clarity about where my true passion lay—technology.
With a renewed focus, I returned to software development, embracing a curiosity-driven approach. I immersed myself in coding, starting with Dart and Flutter for mobile development. Building on this foundation, I expanded into full-stack development, gaining proficiency in modern frontend and backend technologies such as JavaScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, Express, Python, Django, Flask, and databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
As an entrepreneur, I’ve always been drawn to solving real-world problems. Today, I’m channeling this drive into building a learning platform for children through mobile and web applications. Inspired by my role as a father to a 2-year-old, I’m exploring ways to directly engage in his education while making the most of my technical skills.
In addition to these projects, I also run a blog Code & Curious where I share insights about programming and software development, helping others navigate the ever-evolving tech landscape while reinforcing my own learning.
